Gucci will start accepting crypto payments in the US later this month

Luxury brand Gucci will begin accepting crypto payments at select stores across the US later this month.

The pilot program will launch at select stores in the US later this month, with eventual plans to expand to all North American stores this summer, according to Vogue Business.

Accepted cryptocurrencies will include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and five stablecoins pegged to the US dollar.

Gucci cryptocurrency payments will be through a QR code sent to customers via email, allowing customers to attach their wallet and pay.

The company has taken significant steps in moving into the crypto and blockchain space. The company has a team dedicated to Web3-focused initiatives and already has 19 million visitors to Gucci Garden, the company’s Roblox game.

The company also purchased digital real estate on The Sandbox. Last summer, the company gained attention online when a virtual wallet on Roblox sold for more than $4,000, exceeding its real-world price.
